Gracie's 1st Birthday

OMG, I can't believe our little baby girl is one already! Ah, how time flies. Anyway, rather than getting all emotional and wondering where the last year has gone, we decided to celebrate in style with a faboosh partay for our Gracie.

Yes! She took some of her first big steps on party day! Way to perform for a crowd :D

Never one to miss the opportunity for a good theme, we (I) decided to have a Very Hungry Caterpillar Party. Not only is this one of our fave books, but Gracie is quite the eater so we thought the theme was very suitable. And when I say theme, our parties don't quite have the finesse of some awesome american style blog, but they're fun for us!

We started off with caterpillars decorated around the room, a butterfly hanging and a few table decorations. Later, the kids were able to colour in their own Very Hungry Caterpillar and decorate caterpillar and butterfly cookies. Given that we've only lived in this house for 6 months (hang on, that's a fair while and I should be getting my butt into gear!!) we haven't sorted out the back yard, but boy-oh-boy am I glad we have a trampoline! Such a hit with kiddies of all ages, most kids spent the majority of the party out there getting their bounce on.

Gracie had her very first cupcake. And may I just say, she didn't waste a bit! True to form, it was all gobbled up within minutes. So cute! Is it going to far to say there were green poos the next day?!

Anyway, it was our first big get together in our new pad and the space worked really well. We've still got a lot of bare walls and other design dilemnas but we'll tackle that in future posts.

Happy birthday to our beautiful angel xx

Hello there

So....this is my first blogging experience, and I've already lost the first post I wrote! (clicking Save now!)
I'm starting a blog, even though I'm not sure anyone will be interested enough to read it. I've never been a diary keeper, way too disorganised. But I have the urge to document the happenings of my life along with whatever else is on my mind.
Enjoy the ride!
